Inocencio (Chencho) H. Madera passed away on December 26, 2024 at the age of 74 to be with our Lord. 

 

Chencho was born on December 28, 1950 in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, to Augusto and Rita Madera. He and his family moved to California and settled in Lamont, CA in 1959. 

He attended Arvin High School where he excelled in weightlifting, graduating in 1970. During those years he met Noemi Rodriguez. 

 

Before becoming self employed Chencho worked at Texaco Oil for 15 years. Chencho with his wife Noemi operated numerous businesses over a 40 year span in Kern County. Chencho owned and operated a Auction Center, Bar & Grill, Boxing Center, Clothing Store, Deli Restaurant, Fitness Center, Hall Venue, Grocery Store, Pizza Restaurant, Rental Properties, Shoe Center, Video Store, Used Car Lot and Noemi operated several beauty shops. He later in life, moved to Bakersfield, CA where he set his eyes on the dilapidated Strelich Sports Center/Strongbowl Stadium, the end result became THE BAKERSFIELD DOME making it one of the marquee event centers in Kern County featuring Battle of the Badges, Boxing, Circus Events, Concerts, Corporate Events, Lucha Libre, Private Parties, MMA, and Wrestling.

Not only was Chencho Madera an entrepreneur he was also a philanthropist, his philanthropist included non profit organizations, Chencho’s Kids, which sought to teach under privileged youth discipline through boxing. He also hired and trained men and women transitioning from rehabilitation centers, halfway houses, and community release centers, so they can enter the workforce.

 

Chencho’s love for his family was second to none. He was an old movie buff, loved dancing, weight lifting, fishing, camping, amusement parks, beach outings, country music, being a comedian, and loved the sport of boxing. 

 

Chencho was outgoing and loved exploring 

and adventure. His family and travel were his two biggest passions. 

 

Chencho is survived by his wife of 52 years, Noemi Rodriguez Madera, children Naomi (Sandro) Madera-Davalos, Inocencio Jr Madera and Erik Madera, grandchildren Kaitlyn Madera-Espinoza, Kylie Madera, Marie Madera, Chloe Madera-Espinoza, Ethan Madera, and Scarlett Madera and step grandchildren Briana and Jocelyn Davalos and brother Augusto Madera. 

 

Join us as we come together and honor the life of Chencho Madera. We have all felt sadness and grief for Chencho's passing, but now it's time for us to celebrate the remarkable life he lived!
