Born and raised in Bakersfield California, founder, Spenser Prince, has always had a heart for business and for service but never imagined going into the funeral business.
The ability to create jobs, serve his community and conduct business is what has turned this job into a part of his mission.
My mother was born here in Bakersfield and she worked as a school teacher and guidance counselor for children. My mothers parents Rev. Dr. Tyree Toliver and Rosa Toliver dedicated their lives to service.
My Dad moved to Bakersfield in the mid 80s and worked as a liaison to help small businesses grow in addition to his many other entrepreneurial ventures. His father was a service man who retired after 20 years of service in the United States Air-force.
Service, helping, and sacrificing for the greater good is in my DNA. With them now physically gone from this life, I feel an obligation to continue their legacy and serve this community.”
Spenser started working as a funeral assistant for a large funeral service in Bakersfield in 2010. While at Morris College, Spenser worked for Williams Funeral Home in Sumter SC. After returning back to Bakersfield Spenser worked his way up to General Manager of a large firm in Bakersfield. After a break and reset Spenser began to pursue the opportunity to create a new brand and from that Living Waters was born.
